Senator Johnny Ray Turner Prefiles Resolution Honoring Floyd County Veteran

Kentucky State Senator Johnny Ray Turner of Prestonsburg has prefiled a Senate Resolution for the upcoming 2018 Regular Session designating the bridge on KY Route 466 in Floyd County to honor the service of World War II veteran Julius Mullins. Senator Turner prefiled the resolution in conjunction with a proclamation filed by Floyd County Judge Executive Ben Hale. Following the war, Mullins returned to the commonwealth and served as a secretary and treasurer of the United Mine Workers, District 30, and was a member of the board of United Mine Workers Health and Retirement Funds in Washington DC. Turner said the designation of the bridge will serve as a constant reminder of the service, dedication, and sacrifices made by Mullins and all service members, past and present, who bravely protect the freedoms of all Americans.
