The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the death of a 14-year-old boy that occurred on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. According to officials, the subject was involved in a bicycle accident that occurred near the Beauty area on Poplar Fork Road. The boy and a family member were riding bikes around 8:30pm when he lost control of the bike while going down a hill.  His bike did not have brakes and he was unable to stop before crashing into a metal drain pipe. His body was found by a deputy in the earlier morning hours of Wednesday, May 23, 2018. The identity of the boy has not been released.
