Knox County Man Convicted on Drug Trafficking and Firearm Charges

On Tuesday, June 12, 2018, Donnie Garland, 52, of Corbin, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine, possessing with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine mixture, possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Garland was convicted by a federal jury in August 2017. Video evidence presented at trial revealed Garland sold methamphetamine on five different occasions, and that he possessed firearms or had armed guards stationed outside of his location during some of the sales.
