Two Arrested After Child Found Alone on Laurel County Roadway

Two were arrested in Laurel County on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, after a child was found on the roadway. The Laurel County Sheriff’s office conducted an investigation after a passerby located a 2 ½ year old child wearing only a diaper wandering along Piney Hill Road around 7:07 am. When deputies arrived at the scene, no parents or caregivers could be located for the child. The child was transported to St. Joseph Hospital London and was noted to have several large bruises on his legs, chest and torso. Through investigation, deputies learned the child had been struck with a belt by the mother and grandmother. Deputies Arrested 24-year-old Angelica Morgan of Corbin, charging her with criminal abuse, and 45-year-old Bobbi Cross, also of Corbin, charging her with wanton endangerment. Both were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
