The Floyd County Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Outing was held at StoneCrest Golf Course in Prestonsburg on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Eleven teams participated, with prizes for first, second and third place, “Longest Putt,” “Longest Drive,” and “Closest to the Pin.” Names were also drawn for door prizes. The McDowell ARH team of Charlie Rose, Ben Hall, Russ Barker, and Gary Mullins placed first, followed by the Turner Technologies team of Senator Johnny Ray Turner, Neil Turner, Josh Turner, and Glen Turner placing second. Brett James, Melissa Pacovich, Scott Furcolow and Timmy Miller, playing for Fairway Outdoor Advertising, placed third. Longest Drive went to Jacob Goble, with Timmy Miller winning Longest Putt. Gary Mullins won the Split the Pot putting contest, and Ben Hall and Dustin Stephenson both won for Closest to the Pin. The outing was sponsored by Appalachian Wireless, with Big Sandy RECC sponsoring lunch, which was prepared by Carl D. Perkins Job Corps.
