Oral Arguments in Federal Appeals Court on Net Neutrality to Begin February 1, 2019

A federal appeals court will hear oral arguments on February 1, 2019 in Attorney General Andy Beshear’s fight to block the federal government’s retreat from previous broadband protections that were meant to keep broadband and wireless providers from slowing or blocking Kentuckians’ internet service. The protections, known as Net Neutrality, are the subject of a lawsuit by Beshear and 22 other state attorneys general asking the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit to vacate and reverse the 2017 rollback of the regulations by the Federal Communications Commission. A request by the FCC to postpone oral arguments due to the government shutdown was denied.
