Regional Homeless Resource Providers to Conduct K-County January 30, 2019

Mountain Comprehensive Care Center and other in-region homeless providers will be conducting the Big Sandy Region K-Count on Wednesday, January 30, 2019. This is an annual physical count of homeless individuals who are either residing in emergency shelter/transitional housing programs, or who are living locations not intended for human habitation. The Big Sandy Region K-Count is coordinated in partnership with Kentucky Housing Corporation and the data collected from this point-in-time snapshot of homeless population is tabulated with national results to facilitate funding and resource allocation. Community assistance and volunteers are needed. Additionally, donations, food vouchers, and resources are also needed in order to provide meals or other resources once homeless families are found and counted. For more information, contact volunteer coordinator Margaret Rice at 606-886-8572.
