KET Service Interruptions During Tower Work

KET Viewers in Hazard and surround counties may experience service interruptions over the next two weeks while work is done to the WKHA transmitter and antennae. The service interruptions will likely occur between the hours of 8am to 5pm, as the transmitter must be shut off while work is done on the tower. Service should return to normal outside that time period. The WKPI transmitter in Pikeville, which is scheduled to be worked on later this summer, should not experience any service interruptions during this time. The tower work is part of a larger effort, mandated by the Federal Communication Commission, to consolidate bandwidth in what is known as the spectrum repack.
