Multiple Drug Arrests Following Investigations in Garrett

On Monday, March 11, 2019, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department was patrolling in the Garrett/West Garrett area when they initiated a traffic stop on a gray Nissan Maxima. During the stop, a search of the vehicle, assisted by K9 unit Drago uncovered multiple drugs, including prescription pills, marijuana, and crystal meth, along with paraphernalia and a handgun. The driver, identified as 30-year-old Nathaniel Campbell of Knott County was arrested. Soon after, a second traffic stop in the same area discovered additional drugs and the driver, 38-year-old Phillip Ray of Printer, was arrested. Around 8am Tuesday, March 12, 2019, Deputies patrolling near Garrett Park found two vehicles suspected to have been involved in a drug deal. An investigation found crystal meth, resulting in the arrest of three more individuals: 40-year-old Justin Slone; 38-year-old Byron Rister; and 26-year-old Misty Ratliff. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests may be forthcoming.
