Floyd Co. man shot and killed just outside his home

A Floyd county man was gunned down outside his home last week and according to Kentucky State Police, no arrests have been made yet. Delmas Gene Slone Jr., 42, was shot and killed just off of Route 7 late last Wednesday afternoon. KSP officials say they received a 911 call for help, and when troopers arrived, they found Slone dead outside near his home. Trooper Shaun Little says another person involved in the incident was located, but police are not going to release his information. Trooper Little said the case will be presented to the Floyd County grand jury. According to KSP, the alleged shooter does live in the area, and detectives are investigating to determine if a relationship existed between the two in order to ascertain a motive for the shooting. According to Floyd County Coroner Greg Nelson, Slone’s body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office in Frankfort for an autopsy. As of now, the shooting is still under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
