Breathitt Co. man confesses to trapping, selling hawks

A Breathitt County man admits that he illegally sold three federally protected birds. Thirty-two-year-old Danny Gayheart pleaded guilty to selling the three red tail hawks to an undercover agent in March. Gayheart says he used a steel trap to catch the birds. Under his plea agreement he will pay restitution, which is the cost of rehabilitating the two surviving birds. He also faces up to two years in prison when he's sentenced in February.
