Many KY soldiers return from overseas
Dozens of Kentucky soldiers are back home today.
Around 70 members of the Kentucky Army National Guard's 149th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade returned to Richmond Wednesday morning. They greeted family at the new Kentucky National Guard Armed Forces Reserve Center. Their deployment was originally supposed to last just one year, dating back to last June. However, the soldiers only left Iraq after the war there ended last week. A commanding officer said every soldier in the unit returned injury-free from the Victory Base Complex in Baghdad.
Their final orders from their commanding officers? To have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
