Pike Co. clerk injured, two kids involved in accident

Sunday, several people were injured in a car wreck involving a Pike County clerk and two kids. It happened around 10:30 Sunday morning on Buckley’s Creek in Pikeville. Pikeville Police say that Lillian Pearl Elliott was driving a Chevrolet Blazer and crashed head on into another car with a man, identified as Jeff Robinson, and two young children inside. Scotty Hamilton, a Pikeville City Police Officer, said that the cause is under investigation, but as of now, it's suspected that the Blazer ran a red light. Elliott was taken to a Lexington hospital for surgery with non-life-threatening injuries; there's no word on the condition of Robinson or the two young passengers.
