Pregnant Pike Co. woman arrested for shooting up drugs

She's eight months pregnant and behind bars for abusing drugs. Pikeville police arrested 22-year-old Erica Coleman of Elkhorn City Friday on several drug related charges. Officers say she and her boyfriend were caught shooting up drugs behind a fast food restaurant. Tony Conn is an officer with the Pikeville Police Department and says he knew something was up when he saw a suspicious car behind Hardee’s, and when he investigated, his suspicions were confirmed. Officer Conn said an ambulance took Coleman to a hospital, and when she was released, she went straight to jail. Monday morning, Coleman pleaded not guilty to public intoxication, drug possession, drug paraphernalia, as well as failure to appear in court and contempt of court charges. Coleman is due back in court in February. Kyle Thacker was also arrested on several drug charges and is out on bond. Pikeville Police are still investigating where the couple got the drugs.
