Magoffin Co. couple allegedly responsible for 4-year-old's death back in court

A Magoffin County couple accused of killing a child appeared in court yesterday. Forty-two-year-old James Garcia and 23-year-old Cindee Collins are charged with manslaughter for the death of Garcia's four year old son, Cameron Bryce Mullins, last year. Yesterday, both Garcia and Collins pleaded not guilty. Four-year-old Cameron Bryce Mullins died two days before Christmas last year. The deputy coroner says the autopsy shows he had a severe head injury and other bruising and officials say Garcia and his girlfriend, Cindee Collins, were caring for the boy at the time. A Magoffin County grand jury indicted them on manslaughter charges earlier this month. Judy Garcia, the mother of James, said there’s no way he was guilty of this crime. Kathy Brown is the sister of Cindee Collins and in her statement, said she is certain the her sister had nothing to do with the death of 4 year old Cameron, but seemed uncertain of any other suspects. The public defender entered not guilty pleas for both Garcia and Collins. The couple will be back in court February 20th.
