Name released in Louisa fire

Family members have released the name of the man killed in a house fire near Louisa. Morton West died in Saturday’s fire. He was 60 years old. The fire was reported about 12:30 p.m. at West’s home on Little Blaine Creek Road. West’s daughter and grandchildren were home and made it out okay. The Lawrence County Coroner says West was working in the garage when the fire started. His body was found about two feet from the door. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but the State Fire Marshal’s Office says it was accidental. No other information is being released at this time.
