Job fair organizers pleased with turnout
Organizers are hailing Wednesday's job fair in Prestonsburg as an unqualified success. The event, put together by the East Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program, saw 29 businesses on hand looking to hire for well over 100 positions. Businesses at the event included coal companies, communications organizations, service-sector industries, and medical providers, among others. Just a couple hours into the event, more than 100 job-seekers had already attended the fair and placed applications. Joyce Wilcox, a business services coordinator with EKCEP, said her agency was pleased with the participation, both by employers and those looking for work.
