As unemployment tumbles, extended benefits end
The extended unemployment benefits came to a stop earlier this month because Kentucky no longer qualifies for that type of federal aid. That is because state unemployment numbers have dropped from 9.5 percent last year to 8.7 percent. State leaders hope that without these specific funds, more people will be encouraged to get out and find work.
