Investigators looking into fire chief's house fire

The investigation continues into what caused serious damage to the home of the Prestonsburg fire chief. Firefighters say the blaze started around 9:20 Thursday night in the Lancer community. Fire Chief Bobby Carpenter and his family were home, but they were able to get out without any serious injuries. The fire damaged the center of the home along with the attic and roof. Firefighter crews on the scene say the flames were coming out of the roof when they arrived. Chief Carpenter was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but checked out fine. Investigators have offered no word on what they believe may have started the fire.
