Possible tuition hikes coming for Kentucky universities

The University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville will be able to increase tuition by up to 6 percent this fall following action by the Council on Postsecondary Education in Lexington on Friday. The council also voted to allow 5 percent tuition hikes for the regional schools and 4 percent for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. In recommending the rates, council staff considered factors such as state funding, which is to be reduced by $62.6 million over the next two years, and other, fixed costs.
