Widespread illness forces Leslie County School district to close for the remainder of the week
Officials in Leslie County said on Wednesday that all schools in the district will be closed for the rest of the week due to widespread illness throughout the county. School officials confirmed that numerous students as well as teachers are sick with flu-like symptoms. They are hopeful that a four day weekend will help keep the sickness from spreading any further. The superintendents office reported only a 76% attendance rate throughout the county on Wednesday.
