Wives of Floyd Co. officials appointed to county jobs

Two wives of Floyd County officials were appointed to positions within county government during a recent specially called meeting of the fiscal court. Appointments of both Bonita Jarrell, wife of magistrate Warren Jarrell, and Sylvia L. Marshall, wife of Judge-Executive R.D. "Doc" Marshall, were made during the meeting Jan. 13. Jarrell was hired as a full-time employee to work in the Floyd County Attorney's office at a rate of $495.40 bi-weekly, while Marshall, whose appointment has come up before and been rejected, was hired on as a full-time administrative assistant "to work under the direct supervision of the Floyd County Judge Executive" at a rate of $1,538.46 bi-weekly.
