Paintsville McDonald's being torn down, rebuilt

One of the first McDonald's restaurants in eastern Kentucky has been demolished. Crews are tearing down the McDonald's in Paintsville to make room for a new one. The owners say the restaurant built in 1979 is simply outdated. They plan to replace it with a new building with all the latest perks.

Many former employees came to see it go. "Lots of memories have been made here. It's especially been bittersweet for Bob and I. We started this venture with our parents and they have since passed, but it's a great thing we're taking out the old and bringing in the new," said Tom Hutchison, owner. The new Paintsville McDonald's should be completed within 100 days.
