Prestonsburg Health Care retires an "old friend"
Prestonsburg Health Care paid its last respects to an old friend that had been hanging around the center for quite some time — the American flag on display there. The flag, weathered and tearing, had its last day of service on Friday. That evening, Boy Scout Troop 802 arrived to help the center dispose of the flag properly. The Scouts took down the old flag and, according to procedures outlined in the U.S. Code, separated the flag’s stripes and burned the pieces. Sometime after, the ashes of the flag were buried on the center’s grounds. Afterwards, the Scouts raised a new flag for the center.
