UPDATE: Driver indicted after crash kills Pike Co. deputy
David Wayne Childers, the man accused of causing a wreck that killed a Pike County Sheriff's Deputy, has been indicted. Wednesday afternoon, a Pike County Grand Jury indicted Childers on charges of murder and being a persistent felony offender. Police say Childers was speeding when he allegedly crossed the center line and hit James Thacker's cruiser head-on last week. Investigators say they found drug paraphernalia in Childers' SUV. He will be arraigned on February 10th.
