Pharmacy break-in at Minnie

One Floyd County community has seen more than its fair share of crime recently, and now police say it's happened again.

According to authorities, three men burglarized a pharmacy in the Minnie community of Floyd County and got away with thousands of dollars worth of pills. The Parkview Pharmacy was broken into around 3:00 a.m. this morning. The owner and police said they thought the same men also tried unsuccessfully to break into a pharmacy in the nearby community Wheelwright.

"They didn't take money--there was money on the floor and they passed it up, and took drugs only,” said co-owner and pharmacist Kristy Moore of Parkview Pharmacy in Minnie. Moore said she thought she knew why three men broke into Parkview Pharmacy early Thursday morning. The store owner said that with a limited amount of time the men had to know where to go to get what they wanted.

Surveillance video showed three men getting in through the drive through window. They were only in the store for about one minute.

Kentucky State Police are investigating these crimes. Anyone with information is asked to contact Post 9 in Pikeville at 606-433-7711.
