Police still investigating fatal wreck in Lancer

An investigation into a wreck that killed a Martin man last week in Lancer is ongoing. According to Prestonsburg Police, Daniel W. Wright, 23, of Martin, was traveling south on Route 1428 in the Lancer area, when the vehicle he was driving left the roadway and struck a building. Wright was transported to Highlands Regional Medical Center, where was he was later pronounced dead. Prestonsburg Police were assisted at the scene by Prestonsburg Fire Department, Floyd County Rescue Squad, Floyd County Sheriff’s department and the Trans-Star Ambulance service. The investigation was conducted by Sgt. Brian Walker and Patrolman George Tussey. The accident remains under investigation and anyone with information regarding the accident is asked to contact the Prestonsburg Police Department.
