Doctor's office employee arrested for fraudulent prescriptions
An employee at an Ashland doctor’s office has been arrested and charged with 86 counts of obtaining prescriptions by fraudulent means. Kentucky State Police arrested Donessa McCarty, 49, of Catlettsburg, last Tuesday. Troopers say from May 2010 to her arrest, McCarty called in prescriptions for Hydrocodone at two Boyd County pharmacies. Investigators say she would pose as another employee at the doctor’s office when calling in the prescriptions. McCarty is being held in the Boyd County Detention Center. She is expected to be in court on Wednesday.
