Eastern Ky. counties top list for most free & reduced school lunches
Figures from the Kentucky Department of Education show that of the ten school districts with the highest percentages of free and reduced lunches, five are in eastern Kentucky. More and more students across Kentucky are going through the lunch line with empty pockets and walking away with trays full of food. School officials say that the basic need nutrition is a prerequisite to success in the classroom.
