Two Kentuckians among the thousands on board Costa Concordia
A pair of Kentucky newlyweds are on their way home after surviving the recent shipwreck in Italy. Andrew and Meghan Ardire were just married, and were enjoying their honeymoon in Italy when the now-infamous luxury cruise ship Costa Concordia ran aground near a tiny vacation island off the coast of Italy on Friday. The ship was carrying around 4,200 passengers and crew.
According to the Italian Coast Guard, at least three people have been confirmed dead and at least 30 people injured at this time. Italian news agencies are reporting two of those injured suffered grave injuries. Helicopters are being called in to assist with the evacuation.
