Latest convenience store robbery hits Johnson Co.

Police are looking for a suspect after another convenience store robbery in eastern Kentucky.

The Shell Mart on South Mayo Trail in Paintsville was robbed at knifepoint Saturday night. Surveillance video shows around 10:30 that night, a man wearing a mask came into the store, showed a knife to the clerk and demanded cash. The clerk gave him the money from one register and the suspect fled.

Paintsville Police say the robber was in the store only 45 seconds. The suspect is described as 5'11" tall and was wearing a green pullover, black hoodie, ball cap, green or tan pants, and a black mask with white around the eyes.

Police are investigating whether this is connected to other recent robberies in the region. They are comparing it to surveillance video from other robberies. Anyone with information on the robbery or the suspect should call the Paintsville Police Department at (606) 789-2603. All tips can remain anonymous.
