Mining accident kills one in Pike Co.
A mining accident in Pike County has killed one. It happened just before noon at the McCoy Elkhorn No. 23 mine.
The Office of Mine Safety is still investigating, but it appears miner Farley Sargent was working on the underground track when a section of the well fell on him. This marks the second fatality for underground miners in Kentucky this year.
