Floyd Co. special education teacher arrested for public intoxication
When the Prestonsburg police chief took his lunch break at Pizza Hut Friday afternoon, he spotted someone acting unusual.
Chief Mike Ormerod noticed a lady at the counter that seemed to be unsteady, swaying back and forth. That woman happened to be South Floyd Middle School special education teacher Michelle Hall, and police say she appeared to be under the influence of drugs. After giving Hall a field sobriety test, police arrested her and charged her with public intoxication.
Police say when Hall was taken to jail, jail officials searched her and found drugs hidden in her clothing. No one with the Floyd County School System could be reached for comment.
