Construction projects could slow traffic around the region

Wednesday, June 13, work is scheduled at the crossing on Ky. Rt. 1426 (old U.S. 119) at the Johns Creek Volunteer Fire Department. The crossing will be closed to all traffic from 8:00 a.m. until 5 p.m. The date could move to Thursday, June 14, depending on asphalt availability.

The crossing on Ky. Rt. 979 at Harold in Floyd County will close from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 25. This is just across the Harold Bridge from U.S. 23 at the mouth of Mud Creek. As with all crossing rebuilds, the road will be closed to traffic.

The third site is scheduled for work on Tuesday, June 26. This crossing is just past the Paul ‘Doodle’ Hall Bridge off U.S. 23 on Island Creek Road (Ky. Rt. 1426) just past the Holiday Inn Express south of Pikeville. The crossing will be closed from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
