CADA holding walk for community awareness about addiction

Communities Against Drug Addiction is a group hoping to represent the first few drops of a tidal wave of change. They'll be holding an event to raise awareness about drug addiction this evening.

The “Hope in the Darkness” community awareness walk will take place at the Big Sandy Community and Technical College walking track. Organizers say the event is planned to celebrate and honor those in recovery, as well as to remember those who lost their battles with addiction. And while the topic at hand is a serious one, organizers are aiming to inject some fun into the mix, with free barbecue from Pit Stop BBQ, music, entertainment and prizes.

The walk begins at 7 p.m. and is sponsored by Pit Stop BBQ and the city of Prestonsburg. For more information, contact Mike Vance at (606) 886-2336.
