Parents fed up with gravesite thefts, offer reward

Stewart and Evelena Osborne are upset about thefts at their son Anthony’s grave at Newman Cemetery in Hi Hat, so now they’re doing something about it.

They say thieves have taken flowers, solar lights and other tributes they have left at the gravesite. Most recently, the couple placed a University of Kentucky-themed wreath at the cemetery Feb. 12. Days later, it was gone.

The Osbornes have filed a report with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, and now they are offering a $50 reward for information that results in the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for stealing the wreath. Anyone with information about the theft can call (606) 226-0326 or (606) 452-2473.
