Power and water back on in Magoffin Co.

Power and water services have been restored in Magoffin County. Officials say this could help speed up recovery efforts.

Water pumps are working again at the Salyersville Water Treatment Plant. The plant suffered heavy damage in last Friday's EF-3 tornado, but in one week it's gotten a new roof, generators, and some new equipment.

"That was the first thing we had to do was get the electric power back and get water to the people. You got to have that," said Salyersville Mayor Pete Shepherd.

The boil water advisory is lifted in Magoffin County. Officials say the power is back on throughout the county, except for the places too damaged to hook up to grid right now.
