Letcher Co. makes first arrests in synthetic drugs cases

The Letcher County Sheriff's Department made their first arrests at one business in connection with new synthetic drugs and the even newer laws in place to stop them.

Sheriff Danny Webb said they had received a lot of complaints regarding the now-closed TFX shop in Mayking, which was allegedly selling synthetic marijuana at one time. Police said they were continuing to sell bath salts when the arrests were made.

Those who live and work in the area said that information was kept on a chalkboard, which has since been erased. Witnesses describe people ringing the doorbell and then exchanging money for the products at all hours of the day and night.
