Vanhoose lumber honored for long standing

F. S. VanHoose Lumber was recently recognized by Sen. Mitch McConnell on the floor of the United States Senate. The lumber company, headquartered in Paintsville, with a location also in Prestonsburg, was recognized by Sen. McConnell when he rose from his seat to pay tribute to the company and included in the Congressional Record an article about the company that was printed in “Discover the Power of Southeast Kentucky,” published by the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce last summer. F.S. VanHoose Lumber Company was founded in 1910 and has only had two presidents in its history, Frew VanHoose and current president, Joe VanHoose. Joe assumed the reins in 1964 at the age of 23.
