Man who allegedly held his family hostage indicted

A Floyd County man who reportedly assaulted a man and held his own family hostage in January was indicted this week in Floyd County Circuit Court. According to records there, Randall Charles Dotson, Jr., age 38, of Banner, has been indicted on chargest including first-degree assault, two counts of fourth-degree assault, seven counts each of first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree wanton endangerment, and terroristic threatening.

During the incident, Dotson was apparently shot by his son, who authorities say was acting in defense of both himself and his family.

Dotson is due for arraignment June 13.
