Death of a Magoffin Co. woman now ruled a homicide
New information is being released about the death of a Magoffin County woman.
When Karen Pitts was found dead in her home earlier this month police were calling it a death investigation. However, 13 days later, officials have upgraded it to a homicide.
Police still aren't saying much about the death of 44-year-old Karen Pitts, but autopsy results say her death was no accident. She was found dead in her home near Royalton on May 5th. An autopsy ruled that Pitts died from blunt force trauma to the head and it is now being called a homicide
State police are not divulging information about any potential suspects, but they have been conducting interviews this week.
"It is being investigated... as a homicide as the cause of death due to blunt force injury to the head. At this time no toxicology results are in and other tests are pending as well," Magoffin County Deputy Coroner Brian Parker said. Anyone with information should call state police.
