Pike Co. girl moves on to national spelling bee
An eastern Kentucky girl is competing in the 85th Annual National Spelling Bee. Emily Keaton, a 13-year-old hailing from Pikeville, spelled her first word, codeine, correctly in the preliminary round. A total of 278 participants won local and regional spelling bees to make it to the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
