Floyd County Schools approve next year's schedule

Floyd County Schools will operate on a calendar similar to this year's for the upcoming 2012-13 school year, according to an announcement during the regular board meeting at South Floyd High School last week.

During the meeting of the Floyd County Board of Education, board members voted to approve the 2012-13 school calendar. According to Supt. Henry Webb, the new calendar will not have too many changes.

Floyd schools benefited greatly this year by a very mild winter and, and they expected to get out of school at the end of next week. According to Webb, Floyd County schools typically average 22 days off due to weather each year. This year, students missed only five.
