An eastern Kentucky Judge-Executive will remain free while seeking a new hearing
Knott county Judge-Executive Randy Thompson will remain free while his attorneys petition for another hearing in a vote buying case. Thompson's lawyers had asked that he remain free while the request for a new hearing was still on the table.
The Knott county Judge was convicted in 2008 on charges of buying votes using blacktop and gravel on private driveways and roads prior to the 2006 election. Attorneys stated that Thompson has been free for several years after his conviction, thus proving he is not a flight risk.
