A former Kentucky lawmaker is held liable in a civil lawsuit

A former Kentucky lawmaker that is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of his onetime fiancée has been found liable in a wrongful death civil lawsuit filed by the victim's mother.

The family of Amanda Ross can now seek damages from Stephen R. Nunn. Nunn pleaded guilty to murder in June of 2011. Ross was killed outside her Lexington home after the pair had ended their engagement.

A trial date has been set for August of 2013. Nunn is the son of former Kentucky Governor Louie B. Nunn.
