Search begins for new Breathitt Co. superintendent
Breathitt County Board of Education members have begun the search to replace former superintendent Arch Turner, who resigned after pleading guilty in a federal vote-buying case. A state audit also found Turner guilty of mismanaging a significant amount of school funding.
The board has chosen Larry Woods as an interim as they search for a permanent replacement with the help of a hiring consultant from KSBA. The consultant stated that their first order of business is to select a screening committee to choose the next superintendent.
