Commercial Air Service will soon be a reality in Pikeville
A project that has been in the making for a long while will soon become a reality in Pikeville. Commercial air service will be available in Pike County. Officials say it is essential to a global economy and the addition of such service ensures Pikeville to become the hub of Eastern Kentucky. City officials report that their partnership with the Southeast Chamber of Commerce has helped make the project a reality. More than 1 million in multi county coal severance money has been set aside for the project. Officials hope the service will give an economic boost to the industrial parks in the region.
