Corbin football coach catches flak for handling of player's wearing pink gloves

A Corbin High School football coach is under fire after punishing a player that decided to wear pink in support of cancer awareness.

Corbin football coach Steve Jewell is taking heat for calling out one of his players for wearing pink gloves before last Friday's game. Austin O'Neill decided to wear the gloves in support of cancer awareness due to the death of his best friend's mother from cancer.

O'Neill says he was called out after the game by the coach, in front of the entire team, then made to run on Monday as punishment for what Jewell called breaking a team dress code. Officials with the Corbin Independent School System are investigating the incident, and they say no details will be released until the investigation is complete.
