Eastern Kentucky coal production down despite Obama's reassurance

Despite President Obama's reassurance that coal production is up nationwide, coal miners in eastern Kentucky disagree. Reports show that 2,100 Kentucky coal miners have lost their jobs this year alone. Many believe the current president's policies hinder coal progress here in the mountains. Some say they are open to alternative energy sources as long as coal is also included in the equation and the coal miners here in Kentucky are protected. WYMT stated that those interviewed felt that Republicans and Democrats have to work together to make real progress on energy issues.
