The 50th Annual Ky. Apple Festival is set to begin on Friday
The first weekend of October in Eastern Kentucky signals the start of the annual Ky. Apple Festival in Paintsville. This year marks the 50th year for the event that started in 1962. Apple Butter, Tiger Ears and Fried Apple Pies are local favorites of the annual event. Dozens of food booths line the streets as well as arts and crafts exhibits and local musical talent. Crafters from all over the Eastern United States converge on Paintsville to display and sell their handmade crafts. The annual parade will take place on Saturday afternoon. The festival runs October 5th and 6th in Paintsville.
